An audiobook generator from company documents, without hallucination

Procedures and training turned into an audiobook to listen to in the car, recorded with a voice clone, with a hard check that the content sticks to the source.

Industry: Training, company knowledge, content

In short

  • A source document turned into a ready audiobook
  • Recorded with a voice clone (a consistent, recognizable narrator)
  • Quality control: source anchors + transcript verification (Whisper)
  • A branded PDF with the transcript included

About the project

Companies have procedures, training and knowledge locked in PDFs no one reads. The same material as audio can be absorbed in the car or on a walk.

The challenge

Simply dropping text into an AI narrator has two traps: a synthetic voice and the risk that the summary adds something the document didn't say. A process was needed that sounds good and doesn't make things up.

Goals

  • Turn company documents into an audiobook that's easy to listen to
  • Keep a consistent, recognizable voice
  • Guarantee the content sticks to the source
  • Also deliver a transcript as a branded PDF

Technical challenges

A summary faithful to the source

The material is summarized in its own words, but with anchors to the source, so no facts appear from outside the document.

A natural, consistent voice

Speech synthesis with a voice clone, so the audiobook sounds like a specific narrator, not a robot.

Quality control

Automatic verification: checking the source anchors and comparing the recording with the text (Whisper) before the material is handed over.

Solution and implementation

Pipeline: document to audio

From a document comes a summary faithful to the source, then a recording with a voice clone, and finally quality control.

Audio plus transcript

A branded PDF with the transcript is included, so the material can be both read and listened to.

Results

Knowledge people actually listen to

Procedures and training become an audiobook to absorb in the car instead of sitting in a PDF.

No making things up

Quality control ensures the content doesn't drift from the source document.

Takeaways

Good audio is a process, not one button

The value is in the quality control and fidelity to the source, not in merely turning text into speech.
