CarHunter: car deal monitoring straight to WhatsApp

Finding a good car means clicking through dozens of listings every day before the best ones are gone. CarHunter scans listings itself, scores the deals and twice a day sends a short, ranked list straight to WhatsApp.

Industry: Automation, listings monitoring

In short

  • Automatic scan of car listings
  • Each item with price, mileage, location and a score
  • A short, ranked digest twice a day
  • It all lands where you already look: on WhatsApp

About the project

To catch a good car you have to keep returning to listing sites and manually compare prices, mileage and locations. The best offers disappear within hours, so they are easy to miss.

The challenge

The task was to take manual browsing off the person and leave only the decision: you look at a ready short list of the best deals instead of digging through every listing.

Goals

  • Stop browsing listings by hand every day
  • Score deals consistently, by the same measure
  • Get only a short list of the best hits
  • Have it in a channel that is already at hand

Technical challenges

Deal scoring

Each listing gets a score based on price, mileage and other features, so real deals are on top, not random entries.

Short and clear

The digest is concise: model, year, price, mileage, location, score and link, so you can judge a hit in seconds.

Solution and implementation

A robot browses for you

The automation gathers new listings itself and scores them by a consistent measure, without checking several sites.

A ready list on WhatsApp

Twice a day a short, ranked list of the best hits with links arrives straight to WhatsApp.

Results

No more clicking through

Instead of browsing listings every day, you look at a ready list of deals and decide.

Deals do not slip away

New hits arrive regularly, so you catch good offers before they are gone.

Takeaways

Push instead of searching

The value is that the information comes to you, ranked, rather than you going to look for it.

WhatsApp is a good channel

A notification where you already look actually gets read, unlike yet another dashboard.
